LifeSkills Training is a model program through the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). For more information, visit lifeskillstraining.com.

Quest provides LifeSkills Training in area middle school classrooms in partnership other community agencies. Students learn how to resist peer pressure to smoke, drink and use drugs by improving their coping, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Activities in the program help students gain greater self-esteem and self-confidence while they learn about the immediate negative consequences of alcohol and substance abuse and risk behaviors. A recent national study of middle schools participating in the program has shown a significant reduction in violent and delinquent behavior in students who take part in LifeSkills Training.

"Activities in the program help students gain greater self-esteem and self-confidence while they learn about the immediate negative consequences of alcohol and substance abuse and risk-taking behaviors."
