Quest Recovery and Prevention Services recognized several individuals and agencies for their contributions in the area of alcohol and drug addiction services at the agency’s Annual Awards Breakfast on October 16. “Collaboration is critical to providing the best service to our community,” said James Billow, interim CEO at Quest. “We are fortunate to have such dedicated community partners who are committed to helping our agency reduce the misuse of and addiction to alcohol and drugs.”

Judges Edward Elum and Richard Kettler of the Massillon Court System received the “Joy Timken Community Service Award” for their outstanding contributions in the area of alcohol and drug addiction services. The “Prevention Services Award” went to Vanessa Stergios, executive director of AHEAD Foundation. Three “Volunteer of the Year” awards were presented. Recipients were Amanda Crist for her role as Quest mentor, Junior League of Canton for their work with Quest Deliverance House, and Robert G. Morlan for his leadership of Quest’s Board of Trustees. Quest “Employee of the Year” was awarded to Joan Arnold, director of Quest Deliverance House.

Other awards presented at the breakfast were as follows:

  • Community Service Leadership Award presented to the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Stark County, led by Dan McMasters, board chairman, and John Aller, executive director.
  • Criminal Justice Award, presented to Judge C. Roland Centrone, Rosemary Chapman and Michael E. Kochera.
  • Education Award, presented to Jennifer Jung-Kilbreath of Plain Local Schools and Life Skills Center of Canton.
  • Family Court & Youth Services Award, presented to Judge Michael L. Howard, Judge Jim D. James and Judge David E. Stucki.
  • Collaboration Award, presented to Canton Municipal Court, Stark County Job and Family Services, and Stark County TASC.
  • Special Appreciation Award, presented to Massillon Municipal Court and the Quest Cooks! Committee.
  • Special Memoriam, honoring the work of Norma Runyon of Massillon Municipal Court, presented to her husband Hal Runyon.
