The agency now known as Quest Recovery and Prevention Services has been helping people recover from alcohol and drug addiction since 1969. It was a time when alcoholism was just being recognized as a disease by the federal government and many professional medical associations. Alcohol abuse and drug abuse were considered two separate problems at the time. For this reason, Quest started as two separate agencies, one serving people with alcohol problems, the other serving people with drug problems. The two agencies combined in 1983 under the name of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ADA), offering mens residential treatment, outpatient treatment and methadone maintenance. In 1989, the agency changed its name to Quest Recovery Services. In 2004
, we added Prevention Services to our name to reflect our extensive prevention programming work with schools and the community. Today we are known as Quest Recovery and Prevention Services.
